Biography

Stepping into the new role as Student Services Advisor for the American Indian Studies Interdepartmental program, Tim Topper (He/His) comes to UCLA with nearly a decade of experience supporting students through identity-based education and advocacy in Student Affairs. Topper is a proud member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and originally hails from the Great Plains of the Arapaho and Cheyenne territories or what is known as present day Golden, Colorado. At Fort Lewis College, he earned Bachelor’s in Geology and his Master’s in Higher Education at Texas Tech University. Topper arrives at UCLA on the heels of serving as the Program Coordinator at Chapman University’s Cross-Cultural Center for the last 5 years while fostering inclusive and supportive communities for underrepresented and under-voiced communities. Outside of work, you can find Topper playing the Creator’s Game (lacrosse), walking his German Shepard, Rux, or checking out the latest spicy chicken sandwich restaurant in southern California. tktopper@amindian.ucla.edu
